This practical one day training course will provide participants with an overview of communication skills that will enhance their interpersonal skills and enable them to understand how to interact effectively with others.

Effective communication skills are key to the success of a business. Almost every job requires individuals to interact with others to varying degrees. Understanding the needs, wants and intentions of others and being able to express yourself clearly are important skills will help you progress in your role.

Target Audience

This course is for anyone in the workplace wanting to develop or enhance their interpersonal skills, develop their knowledge of communication strategies and improve the way they interact with and understand others.

• Recognise different definitions relating to communication.

• Identify the components of the communication process.

• Familiarise yourself with the types of communication and ways of communicating.

• Identify the main barriers to communication.

• Recognise the key elements of effective communication.

• Identify communication styles and when to use them.

• Develop active listening, non verbal and questioning skills.

• Recognise the 6C’s of communication.

• Develop knowledge on how to handle difficult conversations.

This course is underpinned by practical examples where participants will get an opportunity to develop effective communication skills.
